A full screenplay is not needed at the time of entry; to apply, only a one-page synopsis, 250 word "Why I Am a Filmmaker" essay, and a filmmaker resume are required.

The First Place winner receives at minimum a $200,000 USD cash production grant along with an additional $300,000 in resources to turn their proposal into a script and then into a film. The winning filmmaker will also receive a Canon HD camera, production software, and development and production guidance. And it doesn't stop there; the film will be heavily promoted, will premiere at a major film festival, and will be distributed on multiple platforms simultaneously - theatrically, on cable, and on the net - for maximum international exposure.SkyCupid Filmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12365476184280829647noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203241737879185638.post-84791858283349561132009-06-04T08:09:00.000-07:002009-06-04T08:16:55.372-07:00The Blackberry Storm needs to be recalled!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 224px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W5DCgeDS8ms/SiflYAw6LxI/AAAAAAAAAIw/OnjIQX0PK_E/s320/blackberry-storm-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343491683583143698" />
Wow! Write your members of Congress and tell them to support
funding for these cultural agencies:
http://capwiz. com/artsusa/ utr/1/BETPKLIMSL /KYICKLIUWD/ 3311283706

As Americans for the Arts President & CEO Robert Lynch noted in a
press statement, "The president's proposed funding of $161 million
would take the NEA to its highest funding level in 15 years and will
help continue the upward trend of budgetary growth that Congress
established several years ago. In contrast to the previous
administration, this year's budget includes funding for the Arts in
Education program at the Department of Education at $38.16 million. We
hope that Congress will build on these initial budget requests to
secure even higher funding levels to address the needs of the arts and
arts education community."
http://capwiz. com/artsusa/ utr/1/BETPKLIMSL /HNKGKLIUWE/ 3311283706

On Arts Advocacy Day, artists Wynton Marsalis, Linda Ronstadt and Josh
Groban joined Americans for the Arts and over 550 arts advocates from
around the country to testify on Capitol Hill and to meet with
congressional leaders to request $200 million for the NEA and $53
million for arts education. These requests are just some of the
legislative priorities for the nonprofit arts community in 2009:
http://capwiz. com/artsusa/ utr/1/BETPKLIMSL /ECXOKLIUWF/ 3311283706

A breakdown of the President's budget request is as follows:

Federally Funded Arts Program: FY 2009 Enacted Appropriations (in
millions); FY 2010 President's Budget Request (in millions)

*National Endowment for the Arts: $155, $161

*National Endowment for the Humanities: $155, $161

*Institute of Museum and Library Services: $274.8**, $266
**includes $11 million in Congressional earmarks

*U.S. Dept. of Education's Arts in Education: $38.1, $38.1

Next Steps
As you know, the President's budget is the first step in the
appropriations process. While it serves as an important framework,
Congress has the power to set its own priorities and change these
funding levels. That's where you come in.

Arts advocates can make their voices heard by writing their members of
Congress and urging them to support funding for arts and culture
through the NEA and increase funding for arts in education programs. We
have provided you with a customizable letter, as well as several
talking points to help you craft your message. We recommend you add
your own thoughts and stories about why the arts are important to you
and your community.
http://capwiz. com/artsusa/ utr/1/BETPKLIMSL /JSPTKLIUWG/ 3311283706

Please help us continue this important work by becoming an official
member of the Arts Action Fund. Available in grocery stores and pharmacies, Hydroxycut is advertised as made from natural ingredients. At least 9 million packages were sold last year, the FDA said.
Dr. Linda Katz of the FDA's food and nutrition division said the agency has received 23 reports of liver problems, including the death of a 19-year-old boy living in the Southwest. The teenager died in 2007, and the death was reported to the FDA this March.
Other patients experienced symptoms ranging from jaundice, or yellowing of the skin, to liver failure. One received a transplant and another was placed on a list to await a new liver. The patients were otherwise healthy and their symptoms began after they started using Hydroxycut.
Iovate Health Sciences, which makes the diet pills, said it agreed to the recall out of "an abundance of caution." The company is based in Canada and its U.S. distributor is headquartered near Buffalo, N.Y.
"While this is a small number of reports relative to the many millions of people who have used Hydroxycut products over the years, out of an abundance of caution and because consumer safety is our top priority, we are voluntarily recalling these Hydroxycut-branded products," the company said in a statement on its Web site. Consumers can get a refund by returning the pills to the store they purchased them from, the company said.
Dietary supplements aren't as tightly regulated by the government as medications. Manufacturers don't need to prove to the FDA that their products are safe and effective before they can sell them to consumers.
But regulators monitor aftermarket reports for signs of trouble, and in recent years companies have been put under stricter requirements to alert the FDA when they learn of problems. In 2004, the government banned ephedra, an ingredient in many supplements, linked to heart attacks and strokes.
Katz said it has taken so long to get a handle on the Hydroxycut problem because the cases of liver damage were rare and the FDA has no authority to review supplements before they're marketed. "Part of the problem is that the FDA looks at dietary supplements from a post-market perspective, and an isolated incident is often difficult to follow," she said.
The FDA relies on voluntary reports to detect such problems, and many cases are never reported, officials acknowledge.
Health officials said they have been unable to determine which Hydroxycut ingredients are potentially toxic, partially because the formulation has changed several times.
Public health researcher Ano Lobb, who has studied Hydroxycut and other dietary supplements for Consumer Reports, said the problem may be an ingredient called hydroxycitric acid. Derived from a tropical fruit, it's been linked to liver problems in at least one medical journal study. Lobb said it's likely that other supplements containing the same ingredient remain on the market.
"You really have to be careful about dietary supplements, especially weight-loss pills," said Lobb. "People believe that the FDA has verified that these products are at least safe and effective, and that's really not the case. When you see fantastic claims — that's generally what they are."SkyCupid Filmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12365476184280829647noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203241737879185638.post-90922176573000820972009-05-01T12:45:00.001-07:002009-05-01T13:00:25.815-07:00Discount Code for isockphoto.com<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W5DCgeDS8ms/SftS7oCQrWI/AAAAAAAAAHI/xosyxIK0P-Y/s400/istockphoto_logo.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330945768235773282" />
Just type in TWEET5 in the code area at check out.
