BLUE PLUM ANIMATION FESTIVAL

BLUE PLUM ANIMATION FESTIVAL
Johnson City, Tennessee - USA
June 5 to 6, 2009

The 5th Annual BLUE PLUM ANIMATION FESTIVAL presents a program of animated shorts that are appropriate for family viewing, in the heart of Appalachia in Johnson City, Tennessee. The Festival is presented in conjunction with Tennessee's Blue Plum Arts & Music Festival, which draws in over 50,000 attendees each year.

All Blue Plum submissions are reviewed by a panel of world-class animators, granting submitters key industry exposure. The best films in the student and professional categories, as well as the top film that takes home the Best of Festival award, will each receive $100 USD cash prizes. The Festival also utilizes local elementary school students as judges; the winning children's animation as selected by the students will be awarded the Children's Choice Award and a $100 cash prize.

It's no surprise that the regional media have called the Festival a jewel in crown of the Blue Plum Music and Arts Festival, with visitors returning annually to the festival specifically to check out the latest animated offerings.
